Moonlight Track 6 Hour Challenge

Saturday 18 January 2025
Start time : 12:00

Following the success of our Trackathon and Dark Track events, we are returning to the 400 metre track at The University of York Athletics Sports Centre for our Moonlight Track 6 Hour Challenge. With an hour of extra darkness than our Dark Track event and no floodlighting it gives you the opportunity to spend some time running in the dark on the track.

This is a 6 hour, chip timed event so you can turn up and run 1 lap and earn a medal and goody bag.  Or you can run for the full 6 hours and see how many laps you can complete or anything in between.

We will have 2 start times, 12 noon and anyone wanting to run in the dark, but not wanting to run for 6 hours, can start at 4pm.

It's your challenge, your race, you decide the distance. headtorches will definitely be needed if you are running after 4pm!

No need to advise us in advance how many laps you wish to do, just turn up and run. There is absolutely, no need to run for the full 6 hours, unless you really wish to do so!

All runners, no matter how fast or how far they have run, will receive the same bespoke medal and a goody bag.

Homemade cakes will be available for all runners inside the pavilion and showers are available at the trackside changing rooms.

Please note that all our events are now cupless. Please bring you own labelled bottle or cup. These can be accessed each lap and can be filled and refilled with water and squash before, during and after the event.  We will also have coke, sweets and snacks on the feed station to help keep you fuelled.

Final event information will be e-mailed out to everyone the week before the event.

Race registration and bib/chip collection will be on race day before the event.
